Ukraine President claims that his country has managed to mobilize over $ 2 billion in Europe to buy US weapons
Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski has announced in his speech to the nation that he has managed to mobilize over $ 2 billion in various European countries to buy US weapons and to strengthen the Ukrainian army.

“Our goal is (to collect) no less than $ 1 billion for the program each month”Zelenski said on Sunday night, explaining that the initiative financiers are for the moment Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Canada, Belgium and Latvia, writes Agerpres.
The Ukrainian President added that the money will be used to purchase US armament systems, such as Patriot anti -aircraft launchers and Himars missile launchers, in addition to other military technologies.
US President Donald Trump has ceased to send free weapons to Ukraine, as his predecessor did, and approved a formula that allows Kiev to receive new military equipment for which some European countries pay.
The Trump administration asks Europe to assume a more important role in the efforts to support Ukraine and to limit the Russian military aggression, notes EFE.
