“In winter it has two important components: gas and electricity. The most important is the gas component. We extended the gas ceiling scheme until March 31, 2026, next year. To keep a low price price we did two things: (…) We secured, together with those from Transgaz and with all the operators, that we have the deposits for 2025, now, for 2025. Yesterday we received the latest information: we have over 80% of warehouses – above the EU average ” declared Bogdan Ivan.
The Minister of Energy also said that “we are preparing for the period when we will give up the ceiling”.
“We are preparing for the stage in which we will massively exploit the gas from Buzau and the Neptun Deep project – the platform in the Black Sea – to use our own resources and to stimulate the industry and the economy”added Bogdan Ivan.
Bogdan Ivan emphasized stated that “This winter the price of gas will not increase, 100%”specifying that, from the invoice received by people for electricity, “about 50% represent the cost of energy Active electrics, and the rest is composed of transportation, distribution, supply, VAT, excise, etc.“.
“Very technical” solutions
As for electricity, Romania has mechanisms that should balance the market and reduce the price of energy in a form that leads to a downward trend, the minister said.
“We have found some solutions that are very technical, but which, together, can lead to a reduction in the price for the final consumer. (…) We will work on a mechanism that has worked in other European states and has led to lower prices”, said the minister.
