As of morning, the level of pollution of atmospheric air in Kyiv is average.
However, as noted in KGVA, a tangible smell of burning can occur even when reference monitoring stations show that the level of air pollution according to the main indicators (solid particles, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, etc.) remains low.
After explosions, the smell of smoke is often felt near the hollows or where the wind brings it. Also, the wind can raise harmful substances above the ground or dissipate them, so monitoring stations sometimes show less intense pollution, what a person feels.
If there is a smell of smoke in the area, then Kievans are recommended:
- close windows;
- If possible, limit stay on the street;
- Drink more water.
