“I have 300,000 francs on my account.” The doctor moved to Switzerland. “Conversation about remuneration is a taboo subject here”

Schneider (in fact is called differently, the name changed to the needs of the article), says about himself that he is economical and has control over his budget. He consciously chose the canton of capture as a place of residence, because taxes are low there.

I work 80 percent full -time, approx. 40 hours a week, four to eight night shifts and one to two weekend changes per month. Working full -time, I would spend all the time in the hospital.

Every month, 11 thousand are credited to my account. 390 Franks (less than PLN 52,000). I also receive the 13th salary. Because I work in a private hospital, I could negotiate my salary. Public hospitals have salary tables based on professional experience. There I would probably earn 20 % less.

In Switzerland, a conversation about remuneration is a taboo subject. I don't know how much my colleagues earn, and when I ask, I'm not sure I will receive a sincere answer. In Germany it was much more transparent. There I could check carefully in the collective system how much I earn in my position.
