From all the ruins of Bucharest, only one is stubborn not to collapse, together with all its history, as unknown today: Chiajna Monastery, monumental vestige, part of the national heritage.

With massive brick masonry walls, walls that have an average thickness of about 1.35 meters, the ruin defies and the passage of time, and the perfect ignorance it has.

The ruins of the Church of the Chiajna Monastery are located on the western edge of Bucharest, in continuation of the Giulesti neighborhood (Serbi).

The extent of the damage was analyzed in the study on “Emergency intervention for the safe placement of the ruins of the Chiajna-Giulești Monastery”.
Then nothing happened. The ruins have no part of conservation and protection.

The warning is clear: “In the absence of immediate, energetic and radical measures to safely put what still resists from this impressive monastic relic, it is possible to disappear a history page, without the possibility of rewriting it.”
