It's about the words of Hołownia from July; The Speaker of the Sejm then stated that he had repeatedly suggested that he delay the swearing in to Karol Nawrocki as the President of the Republic of Poland and thus made a “coup.” When asked who made these proposals, he talked about people who “did not like the result of the presidential election.” Later, Hołownia explained that he used the phrase not in the legal sense, but in the sense of political diagnosis.
Prok. Skiba said in July that the statement of Hołownia requires hearing him as a notifying witness, which – as he announced at the time – would take place in the coming days or weeks.

On Monday, in response to PAP's question, the spokesman for the prosecutor's office said that the hearing of Hołownia was scheduled for the first half of October this year.
“The application for interrogation was finally attached to the case of the so -called” coup “from the notification of the President of the Constitutional Tribunal (Bogdan Święczkowski – note of PAP). In this case they have already been planned until the end of December 2025 and interrogations of witnesses are underway,” he said.

It is an investigation initiated by the Deputy General Prosecutor Michał Ostrowski, which on February 27 this year. took over the Warsaw District Prosecutor's Office. The notification of Święczkowski concerned the suspicion of committing a crime of a coup. by: Prime Minister, Marshals of the Sejm and Senate, ministers or the head of the Government Legislation Center. According to the President of the Constitutional Tribunal, the crime consisted in the fact that from December 13, 2023, these persons operate “in an organized criminal group”, aimed at “changing the constitutional system of the Republic of Poland and acting to achieve or cease the activities of the Constitutional Tribunal and other constitutional bodies, including the National Council of the Judiciary and the Supreme Court.” The proceedings were originally, at the beginning of this year, initiated by the Deputy Prosecutor General Michał Ostrowski, to which the notification was sent by Święczkowski.
“Faithful soldiers of Zbigniew Ziobro, or Bogdan Święczkowski and Mr. Michał Ostrowski, carry out very specific political tasks,” commented the then prosecutor general Adam Bodnar. In mid -February, Bodnar suspended in the activities of Prosecutor Ostrowski for six months. Bodnar emphasized that “there is no consent to breaking the basic principles of the prosecutor's office.” The issue of initiating and conducting by the prosecutor's investigation without registration in the prosecutor's registration system regarding the possibility of “committing a crime of assassination of a state” began to be studied by the ministerial disciplinary spokesman “ad hoc”.
In July, Prosecutor Skiba reported that the request to the prosecutor's office regarding the words of the Speaker of the Sejm Szymon Hołownia about the “coup” was sent by Bartosz Lewandowski – the representative of the National Council of the Judiciary as part of the “coup duty” initiated by the notification of Święczkowski.
