Scuffles over foreign policy. Sikorski: The President of the US invites to the White House

Paradoxically, it would be good that we will not be in Washington on Monday during the meeting of Donald Trump with Wołodymyr Zielnski and a group of European leaders – said the boss of Sławomir Dębski for PAP. The dynamics of the formation of the European position pointed to “large chaos” – he added.
On Monday, US President Donald Trump will meet in the White House with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelnski and a group of leaders of European countries. Talks are to concern peace negotiations with Russia and security guarantees for Ukraine. A representative of Polish authorities will not participate in the meeting.
Dębski, asked on Monday by PAP, which means the lack of a Polish representative among European leaders, replied that “paradoxically happened well”, that we would not be in Washington. He added that peaks and meetings are “tools, not the goal in itself.”
The former head of the magazines said that regardless of whether it was a thoughtful decision or so it made, the dynamics of the formation of a European position observed by him at the weekend indicated “a large chaos”.
He emphasized that European countries were alerted by the course of Trump's Friday meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Alaska and wanted to participate in Monday talks as an advisor, to which Zelanski was to get permission from Trump. However, as he said, the leaders – having a problem with selected one or two of them – decided that they would go to the USA with a wider representation, which ultimately resulted in the fact that Trump separated these meetings.
– My information shows that it was a French proposal for everyone to go. But this is anti -effective, because it suddenly turns out that Trump will be after a conversation with Zelanski, where he will probably try to impose Putin's conditions to him, and then they will come out together, together. It will be after Zelanski says “no” because he cannot accept the conditions – he assessed.
According to Dębski, Russia since 2004, then in the form of Wiktor Yanukovych (he competed in the presidential election – PAP), wants to impose on our neighbor a pro -Russian politician as a head of state and in a sense “Zbałorusinize Ukraine”. In turn, as he noted, as early as 2001 the Russian Federation began a campaign in Donbas, in which it began to disseminate the symbolism of the Donetsk People's Republic and the Luhansk People's Republic.
– So we can say, we have a tradition of Russian policy for 25 years and Ukraine has been afraid to impose these conditions and effectively weapons. Now, however, unfortunately, the President of the United States stood on the side of Russia and you have to somehow try to modernize this situation – he assessed.
According to the former head of writings, the American delegation on Friday was surprised by Putin, because the conversations were to suspend a weapon and he dictated the conditions of the end of the war, not a truce. He adds that the chance for a peaceful ending of the conflict during Monday meetings is small, and the course of talks is unpredictable, but European leaders, already declaring their presence, could not withdraw after changing the conversation formula.
– President Trump invited President Nawrocki on September 3 to a bilateral meeting, so not in a crowd, not in any emotions. It will be a prepared meeting, which may prove important from the point of view of what can happen in Washington at the moment. It may turn out to be an important instrument to rebuild some communication with the Trump administration – he said.
In Dębski's opinion, if not for the planned bilateral meeting on September 3, it would not be a dilemma and Nawrocki would certainly fly to Monday talks. In addition, the analyst reminded that Putin has also repeatedly formulated his demands towards the West regarding the withdrawal of American forces from the NATO eastern flank, and their presence is a Polish vital interest.
– So we must have time to assess what happened. Time to build your own argument. Time to think about the overall assessment of the situation. For us, the situation on the eastern flank and relations with the United States are important. It is obvious that Trump's way of pursuing politics builds a threat and a strategic dilemma for us. We will not become Russian allies if President Trump wants. Russia is a direct threat to us and we must stop it, and Ukraine is important to us in the policy of stopping Russia. We must have a full assessment of the situation that will happen after this meeting – said Dębski.
President Nawrocki said on Monday morning, among others that in the “Coalitions of Volunteer Coalitions” format, the government has been represented for a long time and that it was “President of Zelnski invited those European leaders who are to be in Washington today.”
In turn, Deputy Prime Minister, head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski wrote in response that the President of the United States invites to meetings to the White House, with whom – as he said – “with whom Polish representatives of the Maga Movement and personally Mr. President Karol Nawrocki have privileged relations.” Sikorski asked them to use them for Poland and Europe.
According to the White House, Trump will receive Zelanski in the White House at 13 local time (7pm in Poland), after which they will be joined by: chairwoman of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, general secretary of NATO Mark Rutte, President of France Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Prime Minister of Great Britain Keir Starmer, Italy Prime Minister Giorgia Melons and President of Finland Alexander Stubb. Unofficial information shows that Zelanski will meet with European leaders before visiting the White House.
Leaders are to discuss the results of Trump's Friday conversations with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Alaska, including details of preliminary arrangements and a Russian proposal to suspend weapons in exchange for the reflection of the Donetsk region controlled by Ukrainians. Trump supported this proposal, giving up the demand of unconditional truce. Zielnski and European leaders are primarily interested in details about the security guarantee for Ukraine.
The President of the President of the Friday, the US President reported to European leaders during an online meeting; President Zelanski participated in the conversation, and Poland was represented by President Nawrocki.
On Sunday, in turn, the meeting of European leaders before the departure of the President of Ukraine to the USA. Poland was then represented by Deputy Prime Minister, head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski.
