M1A1 Abrams

At the beginning let's look at the latest acquisitions of the Polish army. Although the history of the Abrams dates back to 1980, when their production began, thanks to regular modernization they constantly persist at the world's leading military vehicles. The desert storm underwent their baptism during the operation, the Americans also used them during the invasion of Iraq in 2003. Now the famous tanks are also supplying the Polish army.

The first Abrams reached Poland at the end of June. This is one company, or 14 tanks. The next two are to be delivered by the end of the year. M1A1 Abrams tanks will go to the 18th Mechanized Division. In the following years, the Polish army will be constantly powered by Abrams tanks, both in the M1A1 and newer M1A2 versions. Purchases are to complement the gaps that arose after the transfer of previously used tanks Ukraine. It is also a huge leap into modernity – Abramsy are considered the best tanks in the world.

They move at a speed of almost 70 km/h on the roads and almost 50 km/HW of the area. Their unique feature is a modern engine that can use various types of fuel, including rocket fuel and high -percentage alcohol. The tank armament is a 120-mm cannon M256. From 2005, Abramsa can also be equipped with a tank Urban Survival Kit – its goal is to increase the effectiveness of a tank in urbanized area and protect the crew against specific threats for this type of area, for example, hand -made grenade launchers.

PT-91 hard

In turn, the Polish tank, which was created in the 90s, was a modernization of the Soviet T-72M1 produced previously in Poland under the license. Poland designers added elements of Western technology and native solutions to the Soviet base, such as Drawa Fire Directing System or Obra defense module.

Erawa's reactive armor is protected by the vehicle and crew. The tank is also equipped with self -control. In addition, hard can be equipped with a set for overcoming water obstacles. PT-91 Twardy develops speed up to 60 km/hi around 30-45/HW.

Ultimately, the modernized version not only joined our army, but also came to export – to Malaysia. In 2022, PT-91 Twardy proved themselves in fighting in the structures of the armed forces of Ukraine.

It is mounted on – also produced in Poland under the license – the South Korean chassis K9PL. The baptism of the crabs passed in 2022 during the war in Ukraine, showing great effectiveness. Currently, crabs are equipped with the armed forces of Poland and Ukraine.

Great fuel orders

The Polish Army in fuel supplies is primarily to Orlen. The company has the necessary certificates to supply NATO troops.

A few years ago, the Ministry of National Defense informed us that annually The Polish Armed Forces buy from 75 to 100,000 tons of fuels. Annual consumption was at the time of 90,000. tons – in a simple conversion it is 112.5 million liters of fuels.

As reported by Rzeczpospolita, the contract between the Polish army and Orlen for 2020-2022 states that the concern was to deliver 94 thousand tons of aviation fuel, and the contract was PLN 249 million net. How much does the parade cost?

The Ministry of National Defense has not answered our questions about the cost of the military parade in 2023. It is known that The parade in 2018 cost PLN 2.6 million. However, it is difficult to say whether the Ministry of National Defense includes all costs. It is possible that, for example, fighter flights are not included. And it is estimated that only one hour of F-16 flight costs about 9.5 thousand. dol., or 38 thousand zloty. F-35 flight time costs much more.
