In Krasnoyarsk, a woman was sentenced to a real term in a colony for illegally receiving a pension of a deceased mother.
The press service of the police said that the elderly woman was sick, so she issued a notary power of attorney for her daughter. The document endowed it with the right of guardianship over the mother and allowed to receive compensation monthly, as a person who cares for an incapacitated citizen.
In November 2020, the mother died, and her daughter continued to receive payments. This lasted for three years – Until April 2023, until the fraud has been disclosed. The total damage from its illegal actions amounted to about 615 thousand rubles.
Against the attackers opened a criminal case under Part 3 of Art. 159.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Fraud upon receipt of payments.” The Kirovsky District Court of Krasnoyarsk found a 35-year-old woman guilty and sentenced her to 4 years in prison with serving a sentence in a colony of general regime. The sentence entered into force.
