Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan told Digi24 on Wednesday that the state “can no longer continue the approaches” and must correct negative situations created over the years in various sectors “by popularity decisions in an electoral context or simply by decisions that have been denied”.
Asked if he has a message for teachers in the context of protests in the education system, the prime minister said: “The Romanian state, as I told you, in many fields, can no longer continue the approaches.”
He claimed that, although over the years there have been all kinds of derogations, the teachers' teaching norms were decreased, the number of children in the classes was reduced and the salaries were increased, “I did not see, unfortunately, a global improvement of the education system.”
“And we see, apart from the mistakes of political decision -makers, that in many places, for example, between the class note that a student receives, very good, otherwise, and the note for the exams that are given, baccalaureate or capacity, is a very big difference and it means that it is also a problem that is responsible for many teachers,” continued Ilie Bolojan.
The prime minister then spoke about the measures they were “put in the situation” to take the governors in the current context.
“The approximately 30,000 hours that were additional to the payment by time, practically, distributed, some of them, increasing the didactic norm by two hours, so not cut salaries, but it is true, very correct and honest, that something more work is working with the same money. This is the reality. And the realities that are in the rural area, ”added the Liberal leader.
What did he say about scholarships
Bolojan also spoke about the changes made to the scholarship system.
“” We were forced, with all the impopulation, to interrupt the package of scholarships that were granted to the students (…). Think that in 2021 we had 188 million lei all year, and in three years after that we reached 4.7 billion lei (…), so think that from 40 million euros, what has not been to be supported. correction ”, added the prime minister.
On the other hand, he stated that the education system did not face “affections, say, by direct salaries, as the employees of the local or central public administration were affected, through the bonuses that were affected, by reduction of personnel”.
“He can leave at some point the Minister of Education, it does not matter, the prime minister can leave, but that will not solve a real situation, which means that our country no longer has the financial capacity for all sectors to continue things as they have been or as they have accumulated, negative, through decisions of popularity in an electoral context, or that they have not been in an electoral context. Bolojan.
