The man who wrote history in Moldova died

Romanian football is in mourning. Toader Șteț, the technician of whose name is linked to the highest performance of honest football, promotion in Division A with FC Onești, in 1998, has ceased life, at the age of 70.
Originally from Săpânța, Maramureș County, Step was set by the young man in Buhuși and arrived in Onești first as a player, evolving for CSM Borzești. As a footballer, he went to Minerul Motru, Dinamo Timișoara and Letea Bacău.
Took the Onesti in the first league
The biggest performances, however, checked them as a technician.
His coach's career started at just 29 years old, when, without hanging the boots in the CUI, he received the offer to prepare CSM Borzești, already having a coach's book obtained at the graduation of the Institute of Physical Education and Sport in Bacău.
“I was 29 years old and played in Division B in Borzeşti when I proposed to be the team coach, two stages before the end of the championship,” he said.
The moment of absolute glory came in the summer of 1998, when, under his command, FC Onești obtained the promotion in Division A, after a dramatic victory in extensions, 2-1 with Electroputere Craiova, in the dam played in Făgăraș. It was the season in which the city on Trotuș had the chance to face the borders of Romanian football, Steaua, Dinamo, Rapid or Craiova University.
In addition to CSM Onești, he also prepared the Romanian Laminor, but also Ceahlăul, where he held several functions, from the head coach, to the head of the children and the junior.
