After the May summit, the median price of OC began to fall clearly. The rates recorded in the largest Polish cities in July were lower even than a year ago – according to the data of the Ranekkomat.pl website.

In July 2025, the median prices of compulsory civil liability insurance throughout the country amounted to PLN 673. Compared to the aforementioned May, it was 5.4 percent. and nominally by 38 PLN lower. The rates returned to the level recorded a year ago, when the median amounted to PLN 671.

The strong increase in rates recorded in 2023 and 2024, however, meant that in terms of two years we are still talking about nearly 30 % increases. In July 2023, the median OC prices was PLN 525.

Ranking

In July with the most expensive liability insurance – despite the decline in a monthly basis by 4 percent. And nominally by PLN 38 – drivers struggled in Wrocław, where the median amounted to PLN 889. The next city in terms of OC rates was Gdańsk (PLN 862), where a reduction was also noted. In both mentioned cities, the median was also lower in an annual basis – 2 % respectively. (-19 PLN y/y) and 3 percent (-28 PLN y/y).

Among the most expensive cities, a reduction in relation to the same month of 2024 was also recorded in Łódź (-4.4 percent y/y), Warsaw (-2.9 percent y/y), Szczecin (-5.5 percent y/y) and Krakow (-2.3 percent y/y).

The higher median of prices than a year ago was recorded in Poznań (+3.6 percent y/y) and Bydgoszcz (+6.3 percent y/y). After all, in the cities where increases took place, one should talk about a clear slowdown in prices, because a year ago the rates grew at a rate of 25-30 percent. r/r. The inhabitants of Opole, Rzeszów and Lublin could count on the lowest amounts paid for OC.

Similarly to a year ago, among the voivodships, the highest liability rates were recorded in the province. Pomeranian, Lower Silesia and Mazowieckie, where the median exceeded PLN 700. In each of them, however, it was lower than in July 2024. At the opposite pole there was a province. Opolskie, Podkarpackie and Świętokrzyskie.

The largest price disparities between the capital of the province and smaller towns prevailed in the province. Świętokrzyskie, Greater Poland and Lower Silesia, where buying a policy in the capital of the voivodship had to take into account a fee by over 20 percent.
