Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan told Antena 3 on Sunday that “it is not easy to harmonize things” in a coalition of four parties plus the group of national minorities, but warned that “political stability” is “an important indicator after which a country is judged.”

The PSD has announced that Monday will have a meeting in the context of the dissatisfaction that exists in the party in the way the USR was reported to the official ceremonies organized for Ion Iliescu.

Asked what he will do if the Social Democrats decide tomorrow not to remain in government, the Liberal Prime Minister said: “I hope we do not have such a situation and I believe that all those who are in government are aware of the situation in which our country is, and an important indicator after which a country is judged is the one related to the political stability.”

“Because political stability means predictability when taking measures, it means the ability to take them effectively and means long -term policies, it means normality and development possibilities,” continued Ilie Bolojan.

“The responsibility to take the country before”

Retiring that “the stability part is very important”, the PNL leader said that the parties that formed the coalition took this step “wishing to correct” the situation in which Romania is located.

“Always in a four-party coalition, plus the group of minorities, it is not easy to harmonize things, because they are the stories of different parties, positions that have been different in these years, but, besides these things, the problems of our country are so serious that if what really pushed us in politics,”

He pointed out that “this is no longer about positioning on one problem or another”, but “it is simply responsible for taking the country before.”

Ilie Bolojan argues that “all the projects that were proposed, both in package I and package 2, were discussed” in coalition.

“They are part of the governance program, as it is as a document, so from this point of view there are no discussion related to the fact that these measures have not been discussed. Periodically we discuss them, but that does not mean that the approaches of the parties in one case or another are identical. Like that we take from each party the good ideas, to put them into practice, ”said Ilie Bolojan.

“Any government remains in office as long as it has support in Parliament”

The prime minister was asked if he also takes the risk of a censorship motion to be supported by power parliamentarians, given that PSD deputy Marius Budăi threatened with such a step if the works on the A7 and A8 highways will be stopped.

“Any government remains in office as long as it has support in the Parliament, and given that a censorship motion passes the respective, sure, closes its mandate, so this is not a problem. The problem we have is that, as I told you, we have signed investment contracts far too large than Romania,” Ilie Bolojan said.

He provided two examples in this regard.

“Think about the component of highways or national roads work on contracts that are tens of billions of euros, which means in the following years the necessary financing to be insured. On the hospital component, we have signed contracts that cannot be completed until August next year, when a European funding line is closed,”
