The Italian agency claims that during the conversation Trump asked the head of the Italian government about the readiness to organize a peak in the Eternal City with the participation of his and the leaders of Russia and Ukraine – the first since the beginning of Russian aggression over three years ago.
Ansa announced that the US President received a positive response from the Italian side and gave the secretary of state Marco Rubio to give it a formal run. The idea of Rome was also supported by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelnski.

However, the peak will not take place in Rome because of Russia's objection, which considers Italy as a country too strongly standing on the side of Ukraine – explained Ansa.

The Vatican also declared readiness to organize peace conversations between Russia and Ukraine.
