In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the tenant will pay 2.6 million rubles per fire in the apartment

In the Karatuz district court of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, he ordered a man to compensate for the damage for the fire in a rented apartment.

According to the materials of the trial, in October 2024, a family of three people leased their apartment. After a couple of months, a fire occurred in it, which damaged not only the property of the landlords, but also their neighbors. Experts could not accurately establish the cause of the fire, but indicated possible risk factors: overheating of electrical appliances and careless smoking.

As a result, the responsibility for the incident was assigned to the tenant. The court found him guilty, since there were no other objective factors of the appearance of fire in the apartment.

“Assessment of damage showed significant costs for housing recovery. The cost of repairing the first apartment amounted to about 2.4 million rubles, the second – about 200 thousand rubles. Thus, the total amount of claims exceeded 2.6 million rubles, ”the united press service of the vessels of the Krasnoyarsk Territory explained.

Now a man must pay each owner compensation in accordance with the share of their property. Also, the tenant will cover legal costs.

So far, the decision of the Karatuz district court has not entered into legal force.
