President Andrzej Duda, summarizing the ending presidency, emphasized that from the beginning of his term he tried to keep his promises made to voters. As he noted, when he took office in 2015, the public debate was dominated by the belief that “many things are impossible to realize.” He recalled the words of the then finance minister Jacek Rostowski from the government of Donald Tusk: “There is no money and will not be.”

Duda estimated that despite doubts from the part of the public opinion and political environments, a number of important programs were implemented. – Many doubted when in 2015 I declared that Polish politics could be different – that the state can realistically support the family, we will introduce 500+, the retirement age will be reduced and the army will be strengthened – he emphasized.

The president noted that he was “A steadfast man and a man of faith“, and in his opinion, the most important effect of his public activity is to leave the Polish policy that” “The word is publicly obliged“.
– Poles no longer accept empty promises. They expect consistency. Whoever does not keep them is settled from this election He added.
President Andrzej Duda turned to Karol Nawrocki. “I wish you success”
President Andrzej Duda in his Tuesday message announced that he would proudly take part in the swearing -in ceremony of his successor – Karol Nawrocki. He called this moment “a real holiday of democracy” and emphasized that the newly elected president received “a strong ticket to conduct Polish matters”.
– This is the voice of millions of compatriots who indicates what Poland they want: safe, proud, faithful to their values – said the president.
Duda pointed out that as the incumbent head of the state ending with ten years of service for Poland, he respectfully applies to voters' decisions, regardless of its outcome. – I would take part in this ceremony also if voters decided differently, because the respect for the verdict of the nation and for the continuity of power is the foundation – he emphasized.
The president also referred to his successor, saying that he perceives the choice of Karol Nawrocki as a confirmation of the will to continue the key political directions implemented during his term. He added that he combines common values with President Elekt and respect for Lech Kaczyński's heritage.
At the end, Andrzej Duda wished Karol Nawrocki success and success in the implementation of his mission.
The swearing -in ceremony of Karol Nawrocki for the office of president will take place on Wednesday, August 6, and will end two terms of Andrzej Duda as the head of state.
