Charged payments will appear in Żabka, i.e. the form of the loan, which allows you to move the repayment date by several days. It will be the digital equivalent of “shopping for a notebook” run by some shopkeepers – the media reports.

According to Spider's Web, the customer will be able to postpone the payment for 14 days and only up to PLN 50. Some users of the Żappka mobile application got the “Żappo” offer. The emerging information shows that the condition will be a payment card to the application, because after 14 days the network will collect the appropriate amount from the card.

At the moment we have no additional details – we asked the Żabka network for more information. It is not known, therefore, who will be able to use the service (although it can be assumed that only adults), and what will happen when there will be no sufficient repayment funds on the card after the deadline. It is also unknown what articles will be covered by a new service, and which excluded (one can suspect that alcohol and tobacco products).

Żappo is Żabka's answer to the growing popularity of the BNPL model (“Buy now, pay later”), which successfully functions in e-commerce. Now he is starting to go to stationary stores, including those from the convenience segment.

Although the amount of PLN 50 seems small, it is a form of a loan. The increasingly raised argument is that postponed payments create a risk of debt and relaxation of financial discipline. This is a similar situation as years ago with credit cards.

Żabka has not officially confirmed Żappo, but earlier reports suggested that the network also considered its own credit card. Deployed payments can therefore be the first step towards the expansion of the financial offer.
