WOT soldiers put in a state of readiness in 13 voivodships

Due to the forecasted storms and heavy rainfall, soldiers of the Territorial Defense Forces in 13 provinces were put in a state of readiness to support actions in crisis situations – said the deputy prime minister, head of the Ministry of National Defense, Władysław Kosiniak -Kamysz.

The Minister of National Defense wrote on Sunday on platform X that WOT soldiers may be called for immediate appearance in a period of up to 6 hours in the provinces: Dolnośląskie, Opolskie, Silesia, Lesser Poland, Świętokrzyskie and Podkarpackie and up to 12 hours in the following voivodships: Warmian-Masurian, Podlasie, Podlasie, Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Greater Poland, Łódź, Masovian and Lublin. In other voivodships, the call in less than 24 hours is not planned.

“We remain in constant contact with voivods, local government officials, services and commanders – we are ready for a quick reaction where it will be necessary!” – added Kosiniak-Kamysz.

The State Fire Service also informed about the preparation for help in connection with the possible effects of rain and storms. “The central operational reinforcement of cadets and cadet of fire schools remains readiness. The personal states of rescuers in the Silesian, Lesser Poland and Opole provinces were also raised – wrote on Platform X.

Alerts of the Government Security Center on forecast heavy rainfall and storms on July 27-28 apply to 12 voivodships, and warning against intensive rain – the Podkarpackie and Lublin voivodships.

The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued on Sunday and Monday warnings of the third degree against strong rain with storms for the southern part of the Opolskie, Silesian and Lesser Poland voivodships and the second degree warnings for the majority of the country, except for its northwestern part of it. IMGW also issued 2nd degree hydrological warnings against watering water with exceeding warning states in the Lesser Poland, Silesian and Opole voivodships. The rest of Poland, except for the northwest, is covered by the 1st degree hydrological warning. (PAP)
