The moment an Alaska Airlines plane hits several deer at landing

The Federal Aviation Administration is checking, after an Alaska Airlines plane hit more deer while landing in Kodiak, Alaska.

Flight 231 of Alaska Airlines, a Boeing 737m, had a 39 -minute race south of Anchorage and landed on Thursday at 8:00 at Kodiak Benny Benson State Airport.

During the launch of the landing, at least two deer crossed the track and, unfortunately, they did not survive, Alaska Airlines announced.

The incident took place around 8:00, while the aircraft completed its landing turnover. Despite the unusual danger on the track, the plane managed to run safely to the terminal and no injuries or crew were reported, writes CNN.

“An inspection has found damages at the main landing train of the aircraft, which will require repairs in Kodiak”a spokesman said.

“The passenger flights to and from Kodiak were then canceled for the rest of Thursday, and the passengers were rescheduled on other flights.”

The audio recordings recorded the pilots by observing animals while approaching the landing.

There are deer on the track ”, said the pilot for air traffic control shortly after receiving the landing authorization.

“Roger, do you have any idea where it is currently?”the radio tower replied.

“At the intersection”, the pilot replied.

According to the quoted publication, the airport closed the track for a short time, while the crews cleaned the remains, finding at least two corpses. No passenger or crew member was injured in the incident, the airline said.

The plane involved remains at Kodiak and has not flew from the impact, according to the Flightware flight tracking site.

The planes collide with animals every day at airports around the world, reporting over 22,000 impacts last year, according to the FAA database on wild animals impacts.
