Putin decided. Russia sends a new ambassador to Warsaw

The Russian pro -government daily “Wedomosti” said on Friday that Gieorgy Michno became the new ambassador in Poland; The newspaper refers to the nomination published on the official legal portal of the Russian Federation, signed by the leader of the country Vladimir Putin.



According to biographical information provided by “Wedomosti”, Gieorgy Michno was born in 1972, and in 2018 he obtained a high diplomatic rank. Before appointing the ambassador in Warsaw, he was a deputy director of the Department of New Challenges and threats at the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On July 10, the media in Russia announced that the current ambassador in Warsaw Sergei Andriejew would leave his position. Andrejew has been in Warsaw since 2014, including in the last three years, when Russia – since February 2022 – has been conducting a full -scale war against Ukraine. (PAP)
