JSW shows new data on coal production
Given all this, what does the current activity of the state-owned company look like? On Friday, JSW presented the implementation of its plans in December 2025. The coal segment is key. There total production in the last month of last year amounted to 0.83 million tons, which is 74.6 percent. plan for this month (was 1.11 million tons).
Coking coal production in December 2025 amounted to 0.69 million tons, which is 68.8%. plan (1 million tons). In turn, the production of coal for energy purposes was at the level of 0.14 million tons, and only here it was exceeded (123.7% of the plan).
Cumulatively, throughout 2025, coal production amounted to 13.01 million tons, which represented 97.3%. plan (13.37 million tons).

At the same time total coal sales in JSW amounted to 86.9%. the volume assumed in the plans. Sales of coking coal were lower than expected, and sales of coal for energy purposes significantly exceeded the assumed level.
“The level of coking coal sales in December is affected difficult market situation of the European steel industryresulting in limiting the implementation of quantitative options. They also influence the level of shipments logistical difficulties and still noticeable commercial consequences of reported mine events affecting the change in the structure and quality of the produced coal,” we read in the release.
Higher sales of coal for energy purposes were carried out under long-term contracts. In 2025, total sales amounted to 13.33 million tons of total coal, including 10.6 million tons of coking coal. In relation to 2024, this represents an increase in sales volume by 1.71 million tonnes in terms of total coal (+14.7% y/y) and 0.79 million tonnes in terms of coking coal (+8% y/y).
