The area of forest fires in the Krasnoyarsk Territory has doubled over the past day, the press service of the regional government said.

In the morning in the Krasnoyarsk Territory there were 5 foci of fires on an area of 2.1 thousand hectares. All of them are located in the north-in the Tunguska-Chun, Evenki and Kodinsky forestry. There are no threats to the settlements and objects of the economy.

“Timely increase in forces and means made it possible to mobilize resources to eliminate the consequences of the outbreak of thunderclines in the north of the region. Forest -fire groups from the units, where the situation is calm, attracted the federal reserve, were transferred to Evenkia in advance. Every day, more than 500 people used the extinguishing works, ”the government noted.

Due to the heat and thunderstorms, hard-to-reach forests were examined from the air several times a day. If fires were detected, they promptly delivered forest special forces.

Most fires occurred in a remote area. There is no way to use equipment due to swampy terrain and lack of roads. The conditions for extinguishing are the most complex: a large layer of forest litter up to half a meter, in places – a crossed mountainous area with steep slopes and lifting, rocky soil.

Forest Fire Firefighters had to work mainly manually: to disassemble the rubble, dig supported stripes using axes and shovels, and conduct an oncoming anneal.
