Gold demands an investigation for the information received by Iohannis, Ciuca and Ciolacu from Finance: “You stole the future with documents”

The leader of the senators Gold, Petrişor Peiu, announced that his party requests the emergency opening of an investigation regarding the information that the Ministry of Finance transmitted to 2024 to President Klaus Iohannis, to Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu and to the president of the Senate Nicolae Ciuca on the serious situation.

“We are in the face of a case of political complicity in a continuous form, which led to an economic catastrophe. Ciolacu, Ciuca, Iohannis-all these people, at the head of the state in 2024, were officially warned, in writing, by the appearance of a huge budgetary hole. There were six information, all of them. Lied, they divided the electoral men, launched projects without any budgetary coverage, only to secure their political positions.

“Everyone has to answer”

Information ignored from Finance

The gold reaction comes one day after Free Europe has published several information on the imminent risk for Romania to end a much higher budget deficit than the one assumed at the beginning of the year, information that was sent between August and December 2024 to the first three people from the Romanian state: President Klaus Iohannis, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu.

Through these documents, the three officials were informed about the budget execution at that time, the risk that the deficit on the country rating and the budget for the following year or the consequences of not adopting some measures to correct the deficit.

“In the absence of some budgetary measures adopted by emergency, which will lead to the limitation and reduction of the budgetary expenses for the remaining period, there are major risks that the target assumed by the deficit will be exceeded, with the consequence of increasing the cost of financing the budget deficit”, warned officials from the Ministry of Finance.

This notification was signed by the Minister of Finance Marcel Boloș, the state secretaries Alin Andrieș and Dana Pescaru, as well as by the head of ANAF, Nicoleta Mioara Cârciumaru.

Also, Finance officials warned the risks that Romania would no longer find enough loan money for the payment of pensions and salaries substantially increased by the Ciolacu government.

Former Minister of Finance, Marcel Boloș, confirmed for Free Europe the existence of documents and that the information was sent to the Presidency, Government and Senate in confidential regime because their appearance in the public space could generate a distrust of Romania to pay their debts.

“In 2024, the entire political class spoke about the fact that taxes and taxes were not increased, the only one who sent information in this regard was me. The budget execution was published monthly and the evolution of the budget deficit was seen,” said Marcel Boloș.
