Will Ukraine cope without ammunition from the USA? Analysis of the situation

At the beginning of the week, the White House announced that After reviewing the military assistance program for other countries, he decided to suspend the supply of some types of ammunition directed to Ukraine. Among them are the PAC-3 Earth-Term Rockets used in Patriot systems, directed 155 mm artillery shells, GMRLS Earth-Ziemia Rockets for Himars rocket artillery systems and AIM-7 air rockets used in NASAM Air Defense Systems and F-16 multi-purpose aircraft.
Kiev currently has over 30 multi-purpose F-16 aircraft, and by the end of the year their number is expected to increase to 60. These machines come from the countries forming the so -called The F-16 coalition, which includes dishes, the Netherlands, Norway and Belgium.
As in an interview with PAP he was convinced by Col. Krystian Zięc, a pilot-instructor, co-creator of the F-16 operational use system in the Polish Air Force, the decision of the White House does not mean that F-16 located in Ukraine or to hit there will become a “expensive but useless gadget, because they will have nothing to shoot“.
“One of the sources of these rockets were the resources of the United States armed forces, the second could be deliveries from the European coalition countries, and the third – purchase directly from the manufacturer. In this case, it is mainly Raytheon (American reinforcement and technology company)” – he calculated his son -in -law.
Therefore, Ukraine will still get ammunition from the F-16 coalition. It includes not only countries that give planes, but also: Canada, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Sweden and Great Britain. Another option is the purchase of rockets by their manufacturer by Ukraine.
He emphasized that there is no doubt that for the Ukrainian armed forces a serious problem became the weakening of the readiness of the United States to help after the change of administration.
The expert, however, drew attention to the economy of conducting hostilities, which until now absorbed the attention of the armed forces of Ukraine to a very slightly extent.
“The air-directed shell costs from several hundred thousand dollars and up, and the Earth's guided missiles used by anti-aircraft defense systems-a million dollars and more. One can ask yourself whether Ukraine so far, using this extremely expensive weapon, took into account the economy of conducting hostilities” – the son -in -law pointed out, however, he stipulated: “This is not an accusation. Perhaps Ukraine had no choice and she had to shoot a rocket for several hundred thousand dollars to a drone, which costs tens of thousands of dollars“.
He emphasized that from now on the economic aspect of conducting hostilities would become crucial for Ukraine.

“If the Ukrainian army is forced to buy extremely expensive combat means, it will probably start using them only to neutralize threats, which actually justify the use of such expensive solutions” – explained his son -in -law.
“Therefore, they will not be used to destroy cheap air attack, such as drones. Paradoxically, this may be beneficial for Ukraine” – he added.
