Gudkow is another Russian general already killed by the Ukrainians – in only the first month of the Russian invasion in 2022, seven were killed. However, his position in the Russian army was unique.
Gudkow commanded the maritime infantry units, which in February 2022 took the areas north of Kiev. Later, Morska Infantry achieved various successes in Ukraine, which significantly influenced the perfect image of these units in the eyes of the Kremlin. The brigade commanded by Gudków took part, among others in the crimes committed in Bucza. Gudkow received the Order of the hero of Russia, the highest Russian award for achievements at the front in Ukraine.
Gen. Grudkow became the hero of the Russian media on March 27 this year, when he hosted Putin's meeting with the crew of the Nuclear submarine Arkhangelsk in Murmansk (pictured above). Putin praised Gudków very much and appointed him the deputy commander of the entire Russian war fleet. Gudkow served in this position equal to three months.
