The spontaneous protests triggered by the employees of the Ministry of Finance continue on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, throughout the country, even after the CSAT meeting that discussed about tax evasion – a threat to national security. “The fight with the tax evasion cannot be made really with an underdimed and underfinite fiscal system,” say officials from Finance.

The work was interrupted again, on Tuesday, in the structures of the Ministry of Finance in the country. It is the second day of spontaneous protests, triggered by the announcement of the Government that the amounts collected for bonuses for harmful working conditions will be limited. At the dissatisfaction already announced on Monday, the unions in the system now come and with requests related to creating the legal framework to be able to fight with the tax evasion, this after the problem of the weak collection was on the agenda of the first CSAT met after the President of Romania, Nicușor Dan.

Employees of the Ministry of Finance, ANAF and subordinate units continue the protest actions by asking the governors to create the legal tools so that the collection of revenues to the national budget really becomes a matter of national security and security.

Tax evasion is a major vulnerability, As CSAT says, First of all, due to the incoherent, inadequate and unpredictable legislation, in areas such as: VAT collection, insolvency procedure, transfer prices ”, SEmnals the National Federation of Finance Trade Unions.

Employees threaten to stop activity

It was also protested at the County Agency of Public Finance Olt, dozens of employees interrupting the work between 9.00 and 11.00. The trade union leader Dragoș Danube stated for “Adevărul” that the activity at the counter was not pronounced by the spontaneous protest.

On the other hand, the employees are willing to protest as much as it will be and even to interrupt the total work, it is shown in the release of the National Federation of Finance unions.

“Fighting with tax evasion cannot be done in a real way with an underdimed and underfinite fiscal system. Quality public services cannot be offered by employees who do not have the safety of work and a decent salary” I support the trade unionists. They ask for adoption “Of emergency” of a legislative package that on the one hand will put orders in the system, and on the other to strengthen the position of the tax employees.

Employees from Finance require:

– provisions regarding the recognition of the specific function for the tax employees, which will ensure protection, respect but also clear responsibilities and sanctions;

– pay corresponding to the complexity of the activity carried out and the incompatibilities to which the tax employees are subjected;

– rejuvenating the system by hiring young personnel, capable of quickly adapting to the new requirements and challenges of digitization.

“Employees are determined to protest as much as it will be, even to stop the activity, if not now, under the threat of excessive budget deficit and measures that affect the whole population, will not be taken clear steps to transform the Ministry of Finance into a national safety and security institution.”is shown in the statement.

The dissatisfaction of the employees in the public finance system initially started from the announcement that the revenues from the increase for harmful working conditions are capable of 300 lei, from 1,500 lei as the ceiling was. This will lead, accuse the protesters, at income reductions of about 600 lei net. “This increase is the only one we have, and it does not reach 15% of the salary, as it has been, but about 12.5%. It would be a decrease of about 600 lei, and the remaining 300 lei will not be a net amount, we will receive 170 lei ”, I say employees who have spontaneously protested at AJFP Slatina.

The protests extend and include other institutions, the employees of the Romanian waters interrupting the work for two hours.
