Where artificial intelligence will change our lives

Hinton is one of the pioneers of research on artificial intelligence, which is often referred to as “the godfather AI”. During the Gitex conference, he was asked which areas of life the most artificial intelligence.
– I won't say anything original. I think AI is an amazing tool in health care. In 2016, I shared the forecast that artificial intelligence would replace radiologists when it comes to analysis of imaging tests. Well, I was wrong when it comes to the date. It starts to happen now – said Geoffrey Hinton.
He added that in the coming years medical research analysis will be more and more advanced – and will gradually replace blood and blood specialists.
Will radiologists lose their jobs? The Nobel Prize winner believes that in the coming years people will complement each other with machines in this area. He also added that he is not afraid of much unemployment among doctors, because “this industry is very flexible”, and there is always a gigantic demand for medical services. – And the diagnoses thanks to AI will simply be more and more accurate. More accurate than when only people do it – he added. Although – as he admits, the functions of people in this industry may change.
Changes – as he assesses – will be positive here thanks to AI. – If, thanks to artificial intelligence, we can detect cancer much earlier, fewer people will die because of it He said.
And in education
Education is the second field, which AI is very influenced. “Although my university doesn't like it when I talk about it,” Geoffrey Hinton joked. As he said, research has been showing for a long time that if a child has a tutor, he can learn twice as faster than in a traditional class. – Ai can train children even better. But this is not going on now. Such solutions on a larger scale will only appear in the coming years – he added.
AI algorithms can also help scientists in his opinion. For example, mathematicians. – Mathematics is a closed system with rules, so AI can just play and try to prove theories – said the famous scientist.
Gitex Europe is one of the key technological events on the continent. The next edition will take place on June 24-25, 2026 in Berlin.
