The infamous blue screen that appears in the serious errors in Windows will be replaced after almost 40 years, writes News.ro.

Microsoft has announced that it will soon eliminate the so-called Blue Screen of Death-the blue screen displayed at the errors that lead to the forced restart of the operating system.

With it, the elements added in recent years, including the QR code that guides users to a help page.

The BSOD place will be taken by a black screen, which will include the number of errors and the driver that caused it, for the system administrators to identify the error.

This way, says Microsoft, the screen that appears in serious errors will provide clearer information and will use a simplified design to help repair problems.

The new black screen will be implemented during this summer and will be part of Windows 11.

Beside this will be launched a new recovery tool for PCs that do not start, called Quick Machine Recovery.
