Netanyahu claims a “historical victory” in the war with Iran. The Israeli Prime Minister's Warning for Tehran

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared a “historical victory” on Tuesday after accepting an armistice in conflict with Iran, and insisted that Tehran will never obtain a nuclear weapon, AFP reports.

The Prime Minister of Israel addressed his nation according to the statements of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, who said Tehran is willing to return to negotiations on his nuclear program.

Pezeshkian, however, insisted that Iran will continue to “assert his legitimate rights” to the peaceful use of atomic energy.

“Iran will not have a nuclear weapon,” said Netanyahu, against the background of the armistice that stopped 12 days of air attacks between the two enemy countries.

“We have thoroughly the nuclear project of Iran. And if someone from Iran is trying to rebuild it, we will act with the same decision, with the same intensity, to dismiss any attempt,” added the Israeli leader.

Iran claims he has not tried to develop a nuclear weapon

In a telephone conversation on Tuesday, Pezeshkian told his counterpart in the United Arab Emirates to convey to the American part “that the Islamic Republic of Iran is just trying to assert his legitimate rights.”

“He has never tried to acquire nuclear weapons and does not want them,” he said, quoted by the official IRNA news agency, adding that Iran is “ready to solve the problems … at the negotiation table.”

The war, which broke out with the Israeli blows on Iran on June 13, culminated in the US, on the weekend, on the Iranian nuclear installations. After the Iranian response of Monday, when the forces of the Tehran took an American base in Qatar, US President Donald Trump appealed, and after a few hours he announced an armistice between Israel and Iran.

The blows made by the Israeli forces over Iran killed at least 610 civilians and injured over 4,700, according to the Ministry of Health.

Iran's attacks on Israel killed 28 people, according to official data and rescue teams.

The international community reacted to the armistice with a prudent optimism. Saudi Arabia and EU welcomed Trump's ad, while Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov said that Russia hopes “this will be a sustainable armistice.” French President Emmanuel Macron has warned that there is a “increased” risk for Iran to try to enrich uranium in secret.
