In Norilsk, an environmental action took place on the shores of Lake Walbe, within the framework of which Norilsk first joined the largest federal projects – Green Spring and Water of Russia.
Volunteers, representatives of the public and youth organizations have cleaned the territory with the iconic for the history of the city, but today not the most visited place-the monument to the Hoologist.
The event was organized by the NOOSFER Ecological and Educational Center with the support of Norilsk Nickel and the MKU Ecology and Complex Contents of the Territories.
Since 2014, the All -Russian Promotion “Green Spring”, organized by the V.I. Vernadsky Foundation, has already united more than 20 million participants: “We thought that Norilsk residents have definitely not enough in this project,” said Natalya Karmanovskaya, deputy of the city council and director of the Noosphere Center. According to her, that is why she achieved the deadlines to be specially shifted for the Arctic territories, which allowed the city to join in a large -scale project.
It is no coincidence that the first eco -action was chosen. Located from the usual city routes, it stores its, almost forgotten history. Few people know that in the distant 1938 sculptor Moses Zaitsev created a statue of “Girls-Sniper” here. Made of fragile gypsum, it stood almost a quarter of a century and collapsed eventually.
The idea to revive the symbol came from the Norilsk branch of the Union of Journalists. In 2010, they addressed this initiative to the leadership of Norilsk Nickel, and by the 75th anniversary of the company the Krasnoyarsk sculptor Konstantin Zinich created a new monument in bronze, but already in a rethought image. So the warlike “Sniper Girl” turned into a creative “Geologist girl”.
“It is very symbolic that today we are devoting our action to the new anniversary – the ninetry of the company, as the continuation of this whole story,” said Natalya Karmanovskaya. “The geologist is studying the Earth, and we remind you that it is necessary to take care of it.”
Since the cleaning took place on the shore of the reservoir, the action became a contribution to the federal project “Water of Russia”. The scale is impressive: over 11 years, more than 11 million garbage bags were collected throughout the country in the framework of the subsidiary “Board of Good Deeds”. On this day, Norilsk volunteers added their result to an impressive figure. Garbage bags were quickly filled with long -term household garbage, and in just a couple of hours the coastal line was transformed before our eyes.
This is the practical result, which Natalya Karmanovskaya is talking about, emphasizing that the purpose of the project is to give people real tools. Corporate volunteers, public inspectors and youth leaders took part in the action, including a member of the Norilsk youth parliament Gleb Shin, who had previously prepared the “soil” for such actions, conducting a lecture on visual ecology for schoolchildren.
This event is part of a large system work. Over the past month, the Noosphere Center held three promotions for 80 participants, and the plans for eco-Besets for 180 schoolchildren from labor detachments: “Our goal is that after any event, whether it is a subbotnik or master class, a person realizes that its actions are important. No need to wait for global changes, you can start small, ”Natalya Karmanovskaya summed up.
And the transformed shore of Lake Walbe was the best confirmation of this.
