China has accused the US of violating international law by air attack on Iran and that they have increased tensions in the Middle East, The Guardian reports.

In a statement published on X, the China Ministry of Foreign Affairs requested an armistice.

“China firmly condemns US attacks on Iran and bombing nuclear installations under AIEA guarantees. US actions seriously violate the goals and principles of the UN and international law and have exacerbated tensions in the Middle East,” Chinese MAE said.

“China asks the parties involved in the conflict, especially Israel, to reach a cessation of fire as soon as possible, to ensure the safety of civilians and to start dialogue and negotiations. China is ready to collaborate with the international community, to support the justice and to work on the restoration of peace and the MAI”.

Donald Trump announced on Saturday night to Sunday that the United States hit three nuclear sites in Iran: Fortow, Natanz and Isfahan.

Trump described the US military blows on Iranian nuclear installations as a “spectacular military success” and added that the sites were “completely and totally destroyed” in a speech held from the White House.

The International Agency for Atomic Energy (AIEA) has announced that no increase in radiation levels has been reported following American blows.

Subsequently, Aiea announced that the attacks targeted six buildings, but they contained a little or no nuclear material.

“The installations targeted today did not contain nuclear material, or only small amounts of natural or poorly enriched uranium, which means that any radioactive contamination is limited to buildings that have been damaged or destroyed,” AIEA said.
