A man from Botosani, claimed for influence trafficking, was detained after claiming that he can help a person from Bistrița-Năsăud to recover his permit and obtain a favorable decision in a criminal case, asking for money, according to news.ro.

According to the Romanian Police, on June 18, the police in Bistrița-Năsăud have implemented three home search warrants, in Botoşani and Suceava counties, in a criminal file for committing the crime of influence.

Following the investigations, it turned out that, between February-May 2025, a 36-year-old man from Botosani County, would have claimed to be a civil servant and would have determined a man, from Bistriţa-Năsăud county, to believe that he has an influence on the magistrates, promising him to the recovery of a criminal permit and a criminal permit.

Thus, the 36-year-old man would have claimed and received from the man from Bistriţa-Năsăud county 15,400 lei, motivating that they represent the payment for his connections, costs, personal expenses or the payment of a criminal fine.

A mandate of bringing on behalf of the man, investigated for committing the deed, was implemented.

The man was detained for 24 hours and introduced in the Center for Detention and Preventive Arrest within the Bistriţa-Năsăud County Police Inspectorate, to be ordered.
