The rapid intervention of the SMURD helicopter from Brasov saved the life of a person bitten by the bear on Thursday, June 19, in a locality in Covasna county, informs the General Inspectorate of Aviation within the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

“Today, the SMURD Brasov helicopter intervened to save a person attacked by the bear in the town of Păputi, Covasna county. The victim was quickly taken over and transported to the hospital in Brasov, the aeromedical intervention making a difference in a critical situation”, It is shown in a post on the Facebook page of the General Inspectorate of Aviation.

On the same page a few recommendations were published on how such incidents can be prevented:
– Don't run if you meet a bear- stay calm and retreat slowly!
– Make noise when you go through the woods – wear a bell or speak loudly!
– Don't get closer to the chicken! Their mother can become extremely aggressive.
– Keep the distance and avoid direct eye contact!
-If you have anti-bear spray and use it only if you are in danger.
– In case of danger, call 112 immediately!
