In Poland, problems with the GPS signal are fixed. The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is sure that Russia is to blame

“There is no doubt that Russia has been attached to this. Services have been engaged in this for a long time in cooperation with the bodies responsible for aeronautics, for the safety of the Polish airspace,” he said.

As notes the publication, the Polish computer security service believes that the Russian Federation is jamming a signal from the Kaliningrad region.

Context

Gazeta.pl writes that problems with the GPS signal in the Baltic region are observed for about two years. The obstacles, the probable cause of which the actions of the Russian Federation are considered, destabilize the movement of aircraft, ships and drones in Poland.

In April 2024, thousands of flights over the Baltic Sea suffered due to the likely Russian interference of GPS. On July 1, 2024, the UN put forward a demand for Russia to stop the grip of GPS satellites.

Last week, notes the publication, 17 countries of the European Union turned to the European Commission with a request to take immediate measures to interfere with the signals of the global satellite navigation system. The appeal notes that the incidents are not random, but the systematic actions of Russia and Belarus, which may be part of hybrid attacks on the strategic infrastructure of Europe.
