Superliga: Steel Galati broke away from Portuguese Frederic Maciel

The football team Oțelul Galați broke up with the Portuguese player Frederic Maciel, who has reached the end of the contract and will continue his activity outside Romania, according to an announcement posted on Monday on the official website of the club, Cites Agerpres.
Frédéric Ferreira Maciel, a 31 -year -old attack player, came to Galati in the summer of 2023, when he signed an agreement for one season, so that at the beginning of 2024 he would extend his activity to Otel until June 2025.
- “Despite the highly superior offer made by our club, Maciel decided to change the competition and play in another country, still holding an important promise at least for our supporters: in Superliga, only SC Otelul Galați!”, The club said.
- “At Otelul, Frederic played 84 matches, of which 74 in Superliga-scored for us 13 goals and delivered 16 decisive passes. He also disputed the final of the Romanian Cup, the 2023-2024 edition, and a semifinal of the Play-off for Conference League.”
The Galatians were also separated from Martin Angha, Samy Bourard, Alexandru Mitulețu, Miguel Silva, Samuel Teles and Stiven Plaza, as well as by David Maftei, Răzvan Tănasa (both returned to Constanța Lighthouse), Alexandru Stan (returned to Rapid Bucharest) and Jovan Markovic (returned to Craiova).
