The Presidential Administration announced that the event “Open gates at the Cotroceni Palace” will take on a permanent character, after the new President Nicușor Dan approved the format after which it will take place. The program was initiated during the interim period of Ilie Bolojan.

The new format will enter into force from June 14, being established the areas of the Presidential Complex that will be open to public access.

“On Saturdays and Sundays, between 10: 00–18: 00 (5:00 pm the last entrance within the” Cotroceni Palace “Complex) The following areas of the” Cotroceni Palace “complex can be visited, in free regime: the ceremonial plateau, the Cotroceni Palace Garden – on the North Palace, Cotroceni and the interior courts adjacent to the buildings of the Presidential Administration and the Cotroceni National Museum ”, says in a statement of the Presidential Administration.

The access of the visiting public will be made exclusively through the main gate of the “Cotroceni Palace” complex in Dr. Gheorghe Marinescu Boulevard, and the exit will be made through the same gate or by the gate located at the intersection between Geniului Boulevard and Cotroceni Road.

Also, the possibility of visiting the Cotroceni National Museum will not be maintained without prior programming, from Tuesday to Sunday.

The event, started on March 21, at the decision of the interim president Ilie Bolojan, allows free access, from Friday to Sunday, to the ceremonial plateau, the Cotroceni Palace Garden, the Baroque Plateau, the Cotroceni Palace Church and the interior courts adjacent to the buildings of the Presidential Administration and the Cotroceni Museum.

“It is a sign of respect for the citizens of Romania and an opening sign from the Presidential Administration,” said Ilie Bolojan on March 14, in a press conference.
