Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger urged the Americans not to complain and continue to take action, in the context in which the Trump administration continues its major energy policy, to the detriment of the climate, reports News.ro.

In an interview with the BBC, published on Saturday, the former Governor of California said that President Trump is not a sufficient obstacle to abandon the fight against climate change.

“Well, Arnold, what is the point of fighting for environmental problems and for reducing pollution, with Trump at the White House?” I sometimes tell people. “And with the federal government who does not believe in climate change and wants to drill more for oil and coal …”.

“I answer them:” We all have a responsibility. What do you think, that the action for the whole world only comes from Washington, from the White House? “, Explains the actor. “No. You have to be aware of your obstacles, but you do not have to use them as an excuse, that's my opinion.”

“You have to go to the end”

The 77 -year -old actor was on Tuesday in Austria, in the former Imperial Hofburg Palace, on the occasion of the Austrian World Summit, and is known for its commitment to the environment. In 2006, while he was a governor of California (2003-2011), he launched a plan to combat global warming, causing California to comply with the Kyoto protocol, which entered into force in 2005.

“You know, you have to go to the end. When I was 15, my vision was to go to America, to become a champion in bodybuilding, to get into the cinema and to make big movies. Hollywood movies,” he told the BBC. “Do you think there were no obstacles? There were an infinite number of obstacles and it was a real challenge. It was a real struggle. So I gave up? I complained? No,” he concluded firmly.

Republican in the soul, the American actor joined the Kamale Harris in the race for the presidential elections. “American before Republican,” he wrote X to justify his choice. Despite the disagreements with Harris's program, the hero of “Terminator” believed that the vote for Democrat is the only way to “go ahead”. Donald's replacement at the forefront of the country would mean “four more years of lies without results that will make us more and more angry, more and more divided and more and more hate,” he said.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has already been virulent to Donald Trump after the latter's decision to withdraw the United States from the Paris Agreement. In a video that went viral at that time, the actor criticized the billionaire for “stopping” the “Revolution” in favor of “clean energy”.

The Trump administration, operated in court

While Arnold Schwarzenegger's call has high chances of being heard of his fans and the American public, measures have already been taken in the United States to counteract Donald Trump's energy policy.

In May last year, 22 young Americans, including minors, acted in court the decisions of the Trump administration that authorize the extraction of fossil fuels. Immediately after taking over the mandate, on January 20, 2025, the US president signed a series of presidential decrees, including one aimed at increasing oil and gas production. According to the plaintiffs, this decision is harmful for climate change.

However, the purpose of these decrees is to respond to “an energy emergency,” says the American president, known for his climaticalism, who once again withdrew his country from the Paris Agreement on climate change.
