Presidential elections in Poland. Warsaw mayor is easy in front of the Karol Nawrocki nationalist but in the survey margin

Poland lives hours of electoral uncertainty, after the polls on the ballot box shows an extremely tight race between the current Liberal Mayor of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski, and his counter -candidate, the nationalist Karol Nawrocki. The first has a very small advance, of only 0.6 percentage points – 50.3% compared to 49.7% – but the difference is in the margin of error of two percentage points conducted by Ipsos. The real result, therefore, remains in suspension.

A data update is expected around 11:30 pm, local time (24:00 Romania), and the electoral authority has announced that it will publish the official results on Monday.
Another survey, commanded by the Conservative TV Republica, confirms this tension: Trzaskowski would lead with an even more fragile 50.17%, compared to 49.83% for Nawrocki.
If the figures will be maintained, the profit would be a significant one for the Liberal camp and, implicitly, for Prime Minister Donald Tusk, whose government could, with presidential support, unlock his legislative agenda and accelerate the process of European realization of Poland, after the years of isolation promoted by the previous governments dominated by PIS.
Rafał Trzaskowski, although cautious, addressed the supporters as if his victory would be: “The expression> will probably enter the Polish political vocabulary today. I thank all the Poles who voted. It is time to look to the future, at the speed of torpedo,” he said.
Karol Nawrocki, the candidate supported by the Nationalist Party Law and Justice (PIS) and previously supported by the Trump administration, was not declared defeated. “We will win this evening. We will win and save Poland!” He said, encouraged by the supporters' scandals: “Karol Nawrocki, President of Poland!”
While Trzaskowski is committed to collaborating with the Tusk government to promote reforms – including the liberalization of abortion legislation, a matter that could have obstacles even inside the ruling coalition – Nawrocki has been forced to cope with harsh accusations during the campaign: from supposed links to prostitution and involvement in acts, controversial of a home from a pensioner.
However, the conservative voters remained faithful to him, motivated by the fears about Trzaskowski's liberal policy, in particular his open support for LGBTQ+ rights and the tense relationship with the Polish Catholic Church.
