Cleaning of cast -iron batteries may seem a difficult task, but there is a way that will allow you to do this quickly and without much effort. Dust, accumulating in radiators, not only spoils the appearance, but can also negatively affect health, especially in allergy sufferers and asthmatics. In addition, the dusty battery less effectively heats the room, since the pollution interfere with free circulation of air, experts on Thevoicemag (18+) tell.
The necessary cleaning tools:
- Vacuum cleaner;
- A bucket of water and a liquid detergent;
- Ruff, two rags (dry and wet);
- Polyethylene for floor protection.
However, there is a simpler and more effective method of cleaning – the use of a radiator brush, which costs only about 200 rubles. This tool is available in construction stores and allows you to easily clean the internal sections of the radiator.
Cleaning process:
- Use a pulverizer with soapy water, spray the solution between the radiator sections.
- Go through contaminated places with a radiator brush.
- Again, use the spray gun, but with clean water to wash off the remaining soap.
- Do not forget to cover the floor under the battery with a towel or polyethylene to collect dripping water.
With strong pollution, the procedure can be repeated several times. Regular conduct of this procedure (once every 1-2 months) will help maintain batteries in cleanliness and efficiency.
For more intensive cleaning, you can use a steam generator that copes with dust inside the battery. Also, some prefer to use a hairdryer for blowing dust from the radiator, having previously covered with wet fabric so that dust settles on it.
