There is a popular opinion that you can do vision correction only once. And women are not recommended at all before childbirth, since vision can again “fall” due to overvoltage during contractions. The ophthalmologist, practicing an ophthalmic surgeon of the Center for Visual Restoration in the city of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Vitaly Vladimirovich Ivanov, in an interview with IA EaMedia, dispelled this popular myth.

“After the laser vision correction, sooner or later, about 3% of patients need to be corrected. But this is” the average temperature in the hospital. “When we remove -2 or -3 diopters, the pre -correction is almost never required. When we need to remove -10 or several diopters of astigmatism, we can plan two stages of the operation at once. Usually the reproaching is done no earlier than 6 months,” notes, “notes,” notes, “notes,” notes, “notes. Ivanov.

The possibility of carrying out the reproachment depends on many factors, therefore, doctors necessarily carry out repeated diagnostics before making a decision.

As for pregnancy, then, according to Ivanov, for several decades, experts are struggling with the myth that there is only a laser vision correction (LKZ) only after childbirth.

“You can do LKZ both before and after pregnancy. You can’t do the operation during pregnancy, it is undesirable during lactation and a couple of months after its completion,” the expert concludes.
