Rusal company began to supply potassium fertilizers for farmers

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Achinsky clay plant of the company Rusal began the supply of valuable fertilizer to Russian farmers.

Potassium fertilizer is available as a concomitant product of the plant. The total annual volume of potassium sulfate is 36 thousand tons. Previously, this product was completely exported, and fertilizers for the Russian market were purchased in Western Europe.

“In 2022, the established supply chains were violated, so Rusal decided to reorient these products of the Achinsky plant for the domestic market. AGK is our only clay factory that processes nephelin ore and has the entire technological chain necessary for the production of potassium sulfate, ”said Yakov Itskov, director of the clay division.

The managing director of AGK Vitaly Zagarin said that before entering the Russian market fertilizer, registration was held in the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation. This procedure and development of the norms took more than two years.

“For the convenience of retail consumers, the plant invested in a specialized line of potassium sulfate in Baga 25 kg. It is important that for the construction of the line we used the equipment of Russian development, earlier domestic suppliers did not participate in such projects. Especially for our potassium sulfate, we registered Potashsol trademark in Rospatent, ”said Vitaly Zagarin.

The company recalled that potassium chloride is the most common potassium chloride in Russia and the world. But it is undesirable to use in greenhouses and in the regions of risky agriculture, in particular, in Siberia and the Lower Volga region. The reason is that chlorine is not washed out of soil or soil, and with accumulation leads to a decrease in soil fertility. Potassium sulfate does not contain chlorine and is widely used in the greenhouse, as well as in regions such as Khakassia and Kemerovo region, Astrakhan and Volgograd regions.
