Dispute about the German refinery. Poland is demanding explanations


Minister of the Climate and Environment Paulina Hennig-Kloska met with the Federal Minister of the German Environment Carsten Schneider in Warsaw. Talks focused on key areas of cooperation.

Particular attention was paid to the current situation on the Oder. The importance of system activities, including plans to reduce the salinity of the river and renaturalization projects, was also marked.
A dispute over the refinery in Schwedt
The minister of climate and the environment also expressed the expectation of support for the federal government regarding the refinery in Schwedt. This topic is particularly important for residents and local governments from areas where it is planned to create the Dolna Odra Dolina National Park.
According to the Polish side The territory of our country can be exposed to increased negative impact of the refinery. The ministry demands that the Brandenburg lands explain the lack of concern for concern about increasing the emission of sulfur dioxide from the refinery expressed by Polish local governments.
Paulina Hennig-Kloska emphasized that The Polish side should obtain current and direct access to the results of air quality measurements in Schwedt to monitor the impact of this installation on air quality. The German side has declared cooperation in this matter with Polish services.
Problematic wind farm
