The president of Nicușor Dan said on Friday that Monday afternoon or Tuesday will begin consultations with the parliamentary parties for the formation of the new government, and they will take 3-4 weeks. About the discussions with the Minister of Finance, he said that there is no problem of eliminating 9% VAT for basic foods and that he is trying to avoid a VAT increase, which would increase tax evasion and decrease consumption.
Nicușor Dan – which will take the investment oath on Monday – met with the Minister of Finance, Tánczos Barna, and with the European funds, Marcel Boloș, to discuss the problem of the budget deficit and the targets assumed by Romania before the European Commission.
