It will depend on the results of the presidential election whether Poland will become an active EU member or join the group of eurosceptic countries – they write Norwegian media commenting on the first round of elections. The key importance of women's rights is emphasized, and attention was also paid to the success of the extreme right candidates.

The daily “VG” pointed out that the result of the competition between Rafał Trzaskowski and Karol Nawrocki in the second round will determine the position of Polish women for many years, especially in the field of reproductive rights. In the opinion of Milly Totland, reporting the course of elections from Warsaw, Poland is becoming one of the most important countries in Europe, but the choice between the conservative Nawrocki and the center Trzaskowski may be groundbreaking significance for Polish women living in the conditions of one of the most severe anti -abortion laws in Europe.
The correspondent of the “Aftenposten” Ingrid Brekke pointed out that the success or failure of Trzaskowski would decide about the fate of the coalition government. She reminded that although, supported by PiS Nawrocki, he met with the US President Donald Trump and the Eurosceptic candidate for President Romania George Simion, a scandal related to the apartment obtained in unclear circumstances from an elderly man, will be a hard nut to crack for his staffs.
According to Brekke, the most important player before Brekke became Sławomir Mentzen, whose correspondent described in her report from Warsaw as “anti -Ukrainian and ultra -conservative extremist”.
Almost 21,000 Poles took part in the Sunday elections in Norway, who voted in 17 peripheral election committees. Trzaskowski gained the greatest support in the first round – 31.8 percent votes. Mentzen found themselves in the second and third places – 22.8 percent and Grzegorz Braun – 13.4 percent Nawrocki scored one tenth percentage. Another place with 6.1 percent Adrian Zandberg took votes, Magdalena Biejat was followed – 5.1 percent and Szymon Hołownia – 3.5 percent
