Both candidates appreciated that the result, which in the first round was favorable with a double vote to George Simion, can become close to the extent that from 9.6 million votes there will be a presence of at least 11 million votes.
This would mean that the presence, which was 53.21%, reaches at least 62%, which means 11 million voters in absolute figures.
From 1992 and until now, in the 7 presidential elections that had both tours, only once the presence jumped by 10%. It happened in 2014, when Klaus Iohannis managed to recover a large difference of votes between Victor Ponta who had won the first round by almost 41%.
Tour II 2014 meant a higher presence with almost 11 percentage points, 53% to 64%, from 9.7 million votes to 11.7 million votes. Klaus Iohannis then won in front of Victor Ponta.
