Trump to Decide on Zelensky’s Participation in G20 Summit Amid Putin’s Invitation

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that President Trump will make the final decision regarding Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s attendance at the G20 summit scheduled for December 14-15 in Miami. “This is a leaders’ meeting, and the decision should be made by President Trump. I wouldn’t rule out this possibility,” Rubio remarked.
Rubio suggested that Trump might consider Zelensky’s participation if he believes it could yield positive outcomes. However, he noted, “I do not have any announcements on this today.”
Moreover, Rubio indicated that the U.S. is not on the brink of reaching an agreement to end the war in Ukraine. He emphasized the importance of maintaining a level of communication between Washington and Moscow, especially given Russia’s nuclear capabilities.
