Selma Blair Addresses Delta Air Lines Incident and Apologizes to Fans

In her first response after being arrested on October 11 during an incident aboard a Delta Air Lines flight, actress Selma Blair conveyed her remorse to fans, stating, “Never, not even for a day in my life, did I intend to hurt or scare anyone,” according to ABC News.
Blair appeared in court on October 12, pleading not guilty to two charges of second-degree assault, after which she was released on bail. “I know I’ve been silent for a few weeks since October 11,” she shared with her followers. “And you deserve to hear this directly from me.”
The actress explained that her attorneys had advised her to remain quiet due to ongoing legal proceedings. “And I take this very seriously,” she added.
She further articulated, “What I can tell you is very simple and represents the truest thing I know about myself, which is that I never, not even for a day in my life, had the intention to hurt or scare anyone. So to those I disappointed, hurt, scared, or worried, I am truly sorry.”
Blair also expressed gratitude to those who supported her: “And to those who have written, called, or sent love and support, those gestures have meant everything to me and my son, who is my world.” She indicated that she would focus on her health and her son in the coming period.
In a statement sent to People magazine through her representative, Blair claimed that public accounts of her behavior on the flight were primarily based on a police report and an outdated newspaper headline from a decade ago.
She faces allegations of hitting a flight attendant and biting another crew member during the flight. Additionally, Blair is accused of assaulting a nurse and a police officer.
In her defense, she asserted that she experienced a medical emergency that led to her actions. Her attorney, Shawn Barnes, informed New York media that the incident was not a case of intentional assault; rather, the actress, diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2018, had missed taking certain doses of her medication.
Selma Blair is well-known for her roles in films such as “Cruel Intentions,” “Legally Blonde,” and “Hellboy.” In 2011, she received a Grammy nomination for Best Spoken Word Album for her contribution to “Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl.”
