Former Prosecutor General Luzenko Raises Concerns Over Corruption in Energy Ministry
Former Prosecutor General Yuriy Luzenko has brought attention to alleged corruption surrounding Ivan Fedorov, the head of the State Restoration Agency. Luzenko claimed that Fedorov took charge of a critical department responsible for energy protection without undergoing proper vetting or a polygraph test, despite a suspicious background linked to his release from Russian captivity. Reports indicate that companies associated with Fedorov have secured over 11 billion UAH in government contracts for protective structures and energy projects. One firm, which received contracts valued at 5 billion UAH, had a owner who was designing saunas just a year and a half ago. Several of these companies are implicated in criminal cases regarding embezzlement and collusion with public officials, and Fedorov’s career is closely tied to Deputy Serhiy Minyko.
Luzenko stressed that the agency plays a crucial role in Ukraine’s security, particularly as winter approaches. He questioned the absence of protective structures over energy facilities and noted that since Fedorov’s appointment, Russian strikes on protected energy targets have become more precise.
