Dekpol Budownictwo Expands Its Footprint in Public Sector Projects

Dekpol Budownictwo is strengthening its position in the rapidly growing public investment sector. Over the past two years, the company has signed general contracting agreements for various projects in culture, education, sports, safety, and social policy, with a total value exceeding 1 billion PLN. The firm is actively involved in projects throughout Poland and is also engaged in the construction of a unique facility in Antarctica.
Since its inception in 1993 as a family roofing business in Pomerania, Dekpol Budownictwo has evolved into a publicly traded company. The growth of its competencies has enabled it to handle both local public investments and complex international projects.
“Each segment of the construction market has limited execution capabilities, and the level of activity in different areas is subject to cyclical fluctuations. Therefore, companies that want to grow must respond flexibly to economic changes, diversify their operations, and consistently acquire skills in new, often specialized areas of construction. At Dekpol Budownictwo, we have developed engineering, organizational, and personnel support over the years, allowing us to effectively execute demanding investments for the public sector today,” said Mariusz Niewiadomski, President of Dekpol Budownictwo.
In the realm of education and culture, Dekpol has been involved in the construction of the new Henryk Arctowski Polish Antarctic Station on King George Island since 2020, located over 14,000 kilometers from Poland.
In Poznań, the company is building a new headquarters for the Musical Theatre, Poland’s largest musical venue, which will include a main auditorium with nearly 1,200 seats, a smaller chamber hall, a recording studio, a restaurant, and emergency shelter space. The project, with an order value of nearly 375 million PLN gross, could reach approximately 491 million PLN gross with possible options, necessitates specific building methods due to its central city location.
In Wrocław, Dekpol is constructing the new seat of the Lubomirski Princes Museum for the Ossolineum National Institute. This nearly 10,000 square meter building will house exhibition spaces, conservation workshops, research and educational facilities, reading rooms, and storage for over 300,000 museum items. Building in a historic center requires collaboration with heritage conservationists and coordination with existing structures.
In Kruszyn near Włocławek, Dekpol is developing the Powiatowe Centrum Sportu i Rekreacji, one of the largest multifunctional complexes of its kind in the region, featuring an aquapark with pools, slides, and a spa area, along with a soccer field under a pneumatic dome, tennis courts, and beach volleyball courts.
In the Lublin region, the Świdnik Arena is being developed as a Multifunctional Development Center that combines sports, educational, cultural, and social functions. This facility meets the standards of FIFA, FIVB, PZPN, PZPS, and PZKosz and will host sports events, concerts, conferences, fairs, and community activities.
In Biedrusko, the general contractor is building a primary school with a sports hall, marking the largest education investment in the history of the Suchy Las municipality. The two-story facility will accommodate 600 students, featuring a library, study rooms, a cafeteria, and sports facilities, alongside outdoor sports and recreational areas.
The company is also overseeing the reconstruction and expansion of the Palm House in Poznań. This investment, valued at over 196 million PLN and co-financed by the National Recovery Plan, includes modernization of the facility and a new building with aquariums holding 1,000 cubic meters of water, featuring a glass tunnel for visitors to walk through.
In the realm of social policy and safety, Dekpol is constructing a new headquarters for the Regional Social Policy Center in Poznań, which will serve as a hub for coordinating and delivering social services. It will include a Living Lab for co-creating and testing social innovations. The project, “Strengthening the Social Policy System in Greater Poland ROPS SOCIAL SPACE LIVING LAB,” is funded by European Funds for Greater Poland 2021–2027.
In Katowice, the company is set to build a new headquarters for the City Police Command, a complex valued at over 150 million PLN. In 2024, they also completed one of the most technologically advanced criminal laboratories in Europe for the Voivodeship Police Headquarters in Poznań.
As the Dekpol Capital Group expands, the experience of its teams, execution potential, and production capabilities grow. A significant part of this potential includes its own production facilities, which consist of four plants, two of which specialize in prefabrication located in Toruń and Działdowo. Complementing these resources is Dekpol Budownictwo’s fleet of over 100 modern machinery units.
