Several unidentified aircraft were detected flying over the airspace of the Republic of Moldova on Saturday morning, particularly in the southeastern region of the country. Shortly afterward, Ukrainian authorities reported that an object had fallen and exploded on their territory, approximately 1.2 kilometers from the Moldovan border.
The Border Police in Chișinău stated that no debris or traces of an explosion were identified within Moldova. According to the Border Police, around 04:00 AM, numerous unidentified aircraft were observed near the locality of Căplani, with two of them flying over Moldovan airspace in the direction from Olăneşti to Cistovodnoe. At the same time, another aircraft was noted above Căplani, moving from Crocmaz and subsequently leaving Moldovan airspace towards Căplani-Crutoiarovca.
At 05:19 AM, the Ukrainian side informed the Border Police that an object had been observed falling about 1.5 to 2 kilometers from the state border, near the outskirts of Troițcoe, igniting upon impact.
Joint search and verification efforts conducted by the border authorities of Moldova and Ukraine in the Troițcoe area revealed no evidence of an explosion or fragments within Moldova. However, the Ukrainian authorities confirmed the identification of an explosion site and unidentified fragments approximately 1.2 kilometers from the state border.
This incident follows a previous occurrence on Friday, where a drone crashed and exploded near the village of Colonița in Chișinău, with police discovering debris that appeared to belong to a drone.
